Big White Ski Resort Village

British Columbia, Canada is known for its fabulous skiing and snowboarding - think of Whistler and Blackcomb near Vancouver where the skiing is terrific and the après ski activities are endless and partying is part of the scene. Or you could consider the two very family oriented ski resorts, Big White and Silver Star, about a 3 hour drive from Vancouver, but with direct flights from Honolulu on Harmony Air.

If you prefer some gambling with your skiing and snowboarding check out Heavenly Valley, South Lake Tahoe. Straddling the California/Nevada border, you can ski in both states and you can gamble in Nevada even if you are staying in a hotel on the California side, since Nevada is just minutes away from the California hotels.

Park City, Utah was the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics and is the home of the well known Sundance Film Festival. This historic mining town is surrounded by three major ski areas; Park City Mountain Resort, the Canyons and Deer Valley. The skies are blue and the snow is deep and it's a great place for both snowboarding and skiing.

The Canyons, Utah

The Canyons, Utah is near Park City and is the largest single snowboard and ski resort in Utah as well as being one of the five largest in the US. Although the village is not as large as in Park City, there are some excellent restaurants and shops there. They average 355 inches of "champagne powder" snow and is popular for both skiing and snowboarding.
